Our Chinese zongzi, we have more than 5000 years of inheritance, first , we will prepare the glutinous rice, this rice after boiling and pork, salted duck eggs, etc. wrapped in a special leaf, this special leaf is called zongzi, is a boiled can send out the fragrance of the leaf. The tradition of wrapping zongzi originated from one of our ancient celebrities named Qu Yuan, on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar in 278 B.C., Qu Yuan, then a doctor of the state of Chu, learned that the Qin army had broken through the capital city of Chu, Ying, and was overwhelmed with grief and indignation. Qu Yuan was a poet who advocated reforms to unite Qi against Qin, but was exiled by slander. Deeply disappointed that there was no hope of saving the country, he threw himself into the Miluo River with a huge stone in his arms, leaving behind his final words, “Waisa”. When the people along the river heard of his death, they all raced in boats to salvage Qu Yuan's body and threw rice, rice balls and eggs along the river in the hope that the fish and shrimp would not devour his body after they had had their fill. This scene has become the “Dragon Boat Race” and the traditional custom of “wrapping rice dumplings” that have been passed down to the present day.

Since Qu Yuan threw himself into the river, the fifth day of the fifth lunar month has been designated as the Dragon Boat Festival. People will row a dragon boat, eat zongzi, drink xionghuang wine and other customs and Qu Yuan spirit binding, forming a national commemorative activities. Zongzi also from the sacrificial tribute to the development of daily food, derived from salted meat zongzi, bean paste zongzi, alkaline water zongzi and other flavors, but its cultural core has always carried the patriotic spirit of Qu Yuan's remembrance.
