At night, people travel in groups, enjoy lanterns and visit gardens, immersed in the sea of lights. Different regions have different styles of lanterns, each with its own characteristics. In the south, people often use red lanterns and colored lanterns, which signify good luck and good wishes; while in the north, people like to use colored lanterns dressed up as mythological stories or animal images, which are full of children's fun and creativity. One of the most representative customs of the Lantern Festival is eating soup dumplings. Soup dumplings are the most popular traditional food for the Lantern Festival, made of glutinous rice flour and usually sweet. Its round shape represents reunion and peace, symbolizing a bright future. Families will sit around and savor the warm soup dumplings, sending thoughts and blessings to their families.
