Double-sided multi-ribbed belt (also known as double-sided serpentine belt) has longitudinal ribs on both sides of the belt. This structure enables the belt to bend in both forward and reverse directions in complex gear systems, and can drive multiple pulleys simultaneously. It is a commonly used transmission scheme in international mainstream grinding machines such as Bühler and Ocrim.

High-efficiency double-sided power transmission: Both sides can carry 100% of the design load, making it ideal for the serpentine drive configurations typical in flour mills.
Excellent flexibility: Compared to synchronous belts, multi-v-belts are thinner and more flexible, allowing for the use of smaller-diameter pulleys and reducing space requirements.
Smooth and Quiet Operation: The longitudinal V-groove design reduces air compression noise as the belt enters the pulley groove, providing a quieter working environment for flour mills.
High Load Capacity and Low Elongation: Built-in high-strength polyester cords or polyamide cores ensure constant tension during long-term 24/7 operation, eliminating the need for frequent adjustments.
Application in Roller Mills
In the grinding machine, there is a fixed speed ratio between the fast roller and the slow roller.
Friction drive: Unlike the toothed synchronous belt, the double-sided multi-ribbed belt transmits power through the friction between the wedge angle side and the wheel groove. This provides a certain overload protection (slippage) in case of accidental blockage, thereby protecting the motor and the roller shaft.
Differential speed control: Through dual-sided drive, the two grinding rollers rotate in opposite directions, ensuring that the material is precisely ground rather than simply crushed.
Insufficient tension can cause overheating and noise; excessive tension can shorten bearing life. We recommend using a tension gauge for measurement.
Electrostatic Safety: Flour mills are high-risk areas for dust explosions. All Yonghang mill belts undergo mandatory conductivity testing to ensure surface resistance is below 3 × 10⁸ Ω.
Use of Oil-Absorbing Materials: Oil leaks from mill bearing housings can rapidly cause rubber to swell and delaminate. We recommend placing the previously mentioned Black Oil-Absorbing Felt beneath the bearings to prevent oil contamination of the belts.
When placing an order, please provide the following information to receive an accurate quote:
